    Fifth Grade

  • Teacher Information

Welcome to my profile page! I have been teaching for the past eleven years. Previously, I was working for the Lindenhurst School district in a Kindergarten-1st-2nd grade self-contained classroom.
This is my seventh year at Holy Family School and I am so happy to be working here. I taught 3rd grade for four years and 2nd grade for one year. I am teaching 5th grade for the second year. I will be teaching ELA, social studies, religion, and 5th-8th Library. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

I grew up in Lindenhurst but am now living in Commack. I graduated from St. Anthony’s High School. I received my undergraduate degree from Adelphi University in History with a minor in Childhood Education. I went to graduate school at Adelphi and received my Master's degree in Childhood Education and Special Education.

Throughout the school year we talk about various saints. I enjoy listening to my students share their favorite saint. My favorite saint is St. Anthony. St. Anthony is a very special saint to my family and I.
During my free time I am a dance teacher which I have been doing for many years. I also enjoy spending time with my niece and nephew.

    2023 - 2024  School Year

What can students look forward to when they join your class?
In fifth grade  ELA we focus on applying reading comprehension skills into answering various types questions and summarzing. We will also be focused on writing skills and including more deatils and explaining. In addition, we will be completing novel stories during the year. During the school year I love reading books aloud to my students as well as complete novel studies. My favorite books to read with my class are Beverly Cleary chapter books.

    Message to Parents
Thank you for reading my profile and choosing Holy Family School. I look forward to meeting you and your child/children. The best way to communicate with me throughout the year is email.  Additionally, I use Google Classroom where I post homework assignments, projects, test dates, and various other information.
