"Making a difference, one child at a time."
My name is Claire White, and this is my first year teaching English and religion at Holy Family School. Not only is this my first year being a part of this vibrant educational community, this is my first year teaching full time.
During my student teaching experience, I had the blessing of working at Saint Patrick’s School in Smithtown and St. John the Baptist Diocean high school. This May, I obtained my Bachelor’s in English Adolescent Education from St. Joseph’s University, a Catholic affiliated university in Patchogue. There, I got involved in the school’s campus ministry team. I had the pleasure of contributing my time and spirit to community service efforts and prayer services.
Going into this year, I am looking forward to sharing my love of writing and literature with my students. My goal is to not only help them bolster writing and reading comprehension skills to prepare them for high school and beyond, but to inspire them to live out their own stories as well. Also, I will be serving as the religion teacher for the sixth and seventh grade. As a class, students will prepare for the sacrament of confirmation and learn how to live out Jesus’ calling in their day to day life.
When I am not teaching, I am either cooking new recipes, writing stories, or going for long walks. I am also a book worm, hence why I went into the profession. A fun fact about me is that I am the proud owner of a tabby cat named Hudson. He is a bit of a handful but he keeps my life interesting.

Hello Students! My name is Ms. White. I am thew new ELA teacher at Holy Family School. I enjoy drinking tea, listening to Taylor Swtift, and, most importantly, ELA. Holy Family School with open arms.
Message to Parents:
Hello Parents! Thank you so much for choosing Holy Family School for your child's academic and spiritual upbringings. As both the ELA and religion teacher, my goal is to foster a love of learning in every student. Not only am I excited to teach the students, I am excited to work with you to help provide your children with the best educational experience possible.
In my classroom, I have various goals. The most obvious is to provide students with the instruction required to learn and display the fundamentals of ELA and the Catholic faith. Additionally, my goal as a first year teacher sores outside of the classroom and into the outside world. I want to teach students how to be kind and understanding individuals with the ability to recognize this by studying texts and conducting projects that cater to various interests and highlight the gifts each one of your children possess.
The first prayer I ever said was to be a teacher. Thsi position is the answer. Now, I pray for the grace to steward this opportunity well. To provide the best learning experience possible, I would like to collaborate with both my students and their parents. Education is by all means a team effort. If you have any concerns or questions, big or small, please do not hesitate to reach out. My preferred means of contact is my school email, but we can always schedule a phone call.
Thank you for choosing Holy Family School. I am excited to share the blessing of this lovely community with each one of you.
